Perio Trays

Gum disease is unfortunately extremely common and millions of Americans have been diagnosed with different levels of gum disease. Until recently there wasn’t a permanent, non-surgical treatment for Gum disease. While there were treatments that could be done, it still didn’t completely remove it. But a few years ago the Perio Tray was invented. East Center Dental is excited to now offer this amazing product. Perio Treys supplement and improve the treatment that our dentists provide. These trays deliver the medication deep into the gums to fight the infection, and it only requires a few minutes each day.

Symptoms of gum disease

Usually, if you notice some of these symptoms, it will mean that you most likely have some sort of gum disease. Obviously, you should be visiting the dentist regularly and this will help protect you from gum disease and they will be able to sport signs and take care of it. Here are the symptoms,

  • Bleeding gums when brushing and flossing
  • Obvious plaque and tartar
  • Red, swollen, and tender gums
  • Bad breath
  • Sensitive teeth
  • Receding Gums

These aren’t the only symptoms you can have, but they are the most common. Schedule a dental appointment if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.

What is the Perio Tray?

The Perio Tray is customized for each patient, and the purpose is to place the medication deep below the gum. This will allow the medication fight the bad bacteria. The reason this is so important is that brushing and flossing won’t reach below the gums. That is why if you don’t visit the dentist often bacteria will begin to build up under the gum line. The Perio Tray has made it much easier to fight that bacteria and help fight gum disease. You should never use these without the direction of your dentist.

Managing oral bacteria is important since your oral health does affect the rest of your body. The oral bacteria that causes gingivitis and periodontist gum diseases have been linked to multiple serious diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and strokes. The best step you can take is to regularly visit the dentist, since not only will they clean your teeth and fix any issues, but they can also suggest further steps that can be taken, such as Perio Trays.
